GUIDANCE PROGRAM

Forsyth Public Schools offers comprehensive guidance programming designed to foster the personal, social, educational and career development for all students. School counselors serve as a resource to parents, staff and students and are responsible for implementing the guidance program by conducting classroom guidance presentations, providing personal counseling and coordinating other activities that support the objectives of the guidance program. School counselors also consult and with parents, administrators, school staff, and community resource personnel to meet the needs of students.

In addition to the delivery of a planned, sequential guidance curriculum, personal/individual counseling is available to all students at Forsyth Schools to assist them in dealing with a variety of issues or concerns. Students, parents and school staff members may request that a student visit with the school counselor. The counselor will seek parental permission for students requiring on-going assistance.

If you have a specific concern about your child, please contact the school office, your child’s teacher or the school counselor directly.
